I appreciate the overall retro theme of the game, it's both fun and somewhat addictive, making you want to replay it over and over to achieve a longer playtime.

However, I wish there were a scoreboard or some form of progress tracking. After multiple times playing the game, I noticed that certain actions like skipping a beat or continuously using fists you didn't lose a heart, which could affect the challenge level.

While the characters are enjoyable, they don't seem to fit that well together, they are lacking some context.

The game is goofy and enjoyable, offering a fun experience.
Creating a beat-down game in just two days isn't that easy! Overall, great job!

I love the retro theme of the game, this not only visualizes well in the art-style, but also feels great in the gameplay & sound. The latter is what intrigued me the most about your game. The audio transitions when you progress are super smooth, as well as the transition when you die.

I must admit, the hard mode is a little too hard for me, but that is mostly a skill issue haha.

Despite my previous comment about the sound transitions being really smooth, I would really love to see the animatronics spawn in such a way that they come to the player when different beats drop, I think this is some extra player feedback to hit those "perfect" smashes.

What did confuse me a little bit when I saw the game was the UI indicating the button, as well as the mouse click. This might seem like a bit of a stretch, but I would consider creating some sort of combo-system, where different animatronics might require different buttons/combinations?

Despite that, I think you can definitely be proud of what you've made as a team this jam! Keep it up!

Lovely itch page, like the retro art style. The game has a nice execution for its premise, the game feels polished. The only reservation I have is how you could bring this game to the next level. I also think that in the final result, the game doesn't have as much soul to it I was picturing a more memey and wonky game but instead I think this lacks a bit the fun twist I was imagining. Well done though, very nice!

A game about punshing animatronics, sign me up. This game offers a fun take on the rhythm game genre with fun and addicting gameplay. I love that it includes a hard mode to challenge the player. The game itself feels very satisfying to play, with some good music that fits the style.

This being said, there are some small issues I have with the game. These are mainly about communication. I feel like the HP of the player should be located closer to the focus point of the game, because looking to the top left to check your HP is a bit of a risk when playing. Using a post-prosseing effect like a vignette, you could also communicate the HP better with the vignette becoming smaller the lower your HP or do something similar to the call of duty games where blood is displayed on screen when your low on HP. I think an audio indication of you missing a punch would also definitely help here.  Another small problem I have is that it is difficult to see when the anamatronics are in range for you, punch. This makes it a little difficult to time the punch right. However, this might just be because I am less experienced with these types of games.

To add some possible suggestions to make the game even better, I would also maybe add in a voice line that plays at certain milestones (every minute or so) to encourage the player more.

When it comes down to it, this is a fun little game that is very addictive, and you can definitely take my word for it that I am going to try and get to 3 minutes on hard mode.

Uncaged is a solid game. Punching the hell out of Steamboat Willy and Winnie the Pooh is a wild concept, but it's handled really well.

I will say that my main gripe with this game is the inconsistent artstyle. As well as perhaps the music sometimes being off-tune from when you need to punch. So, I wish there was some more time spent on the rhythm aspect of the game.

All in all, the game is still really fun. Hardmode especially is a nice challenge! If only I could beat that highscore.

Captivating rhythm experience! The feedback feels nice and getting in the flow of the game is thrilling. I do wish that the game was focused on the rhythm part because you don't punch on the beat of the music also would have liked some more variety in gameplay like notes were I need to charge my push or hold it.

However I find the game satisfying to play and feel compelled to beat my best time.

Uncaged is a good rhythm-based game with simple controls. I think the best part is how satisfying the game feels. The feedback you get from landing a punch feels really good.

However, I do have two small complaints about the game. My main issue comes with clarity. When you get hit, there really isn't much visual indication other than one of your hearts going missing. Additionally, at higher speeds, it gets kinda hard to tell which characters are on which rows. I think if the camera was a bit higher up and tilted a bit downward, it would give a better perspective and allow players to time their punches better.

I also think that the game is a bit too simplistic in terms of controls. Adding in a possible "holding" mechanic where the players have to hold one of the buttons and release at the right time might work. Another idea could be to fill a "Fever" bar and if you hit a certain amount of enemies in a row, it would grant a period where you could go wild with your punches without any drawbacks, just to add to the satisfaction of throwing punches wildly.

Still, I really like the idea of this game. It's very easy to get sucked into trying to do better with each playthrough. Overall, it's a solid game!

Nice rhythm game! What I really love is that it’s very easy to get into a “flow” state with this game. The game immediately requires constant attention and concentration to do well, making it addicting to keep trying again and again for a higher time.

The only negative is that the game concept is quite simplistic and doesn’t make the game stand out as much compared to others.

Player feedback is clear and satisfying + I always wanted to punch Winnie The Pooh.

Fun game about beating up steamboat Willy and Winnie the Pooh. The controls are very simple and the game can be quite forgiving but it quickly ramps up in difficulty.
My biggest complaint is that I'm somewhat missing the rhythm aspect of it all. There is background music that speeds up while you play, but you don't punch on the beat.
Overall a really nice game, the punches feel very satisfying and I want to play it over and over again. Great job!

Fun little rythm game which rapidly increases in difficulty and has good player feedback on the punches.

I do feel like the game is a bit too simplistic in it's current state. What if you added an extra lane and allowed the player to switch between lanes while punching? Other than that I think adding a leaderboard (even a local one) would could benefit the game and add to the replayability.

Nice game given the limited timeframe it was created in!

Very fun concept! Lasted 1:31 on Hard Mode, felt empowering 😎

Hell yeah!
